City Council’s regular agenda schedule was very busy from an Administrative standpoint – if you look at just the December 6th agenda there were 15 Resolutions and 4 Ordinances alone! Anyone looking for more frequent updates and if you are on Facebook I encourage you to join the Springdale Community Group.
At last count the Facebook Community Group had over 950 members and is very active – with updates everyday sharing goings on in Springdale and some of our neighboring communities. The group is well moderated and generally has a very positive vibe to it. Feel free to tag me in any questions over there too, I try to keep up with it as much as possible.
As for recent meetings, there are two items I wanted to highlight:
- New City Council Sworn in
- Updates to Underwood and Cameron Park
Swearing In of New Council
Every two years a new City Council is sworn in (with 3 or 4 of the positions up for election every two years.) This year’s Council had all 3 of the positions up for election go to first time Council members, along with that a new Mayor was shown in and a new Council President was elected.
Along with the new elected officials many Committees and Commissions end dates line up with the end of year. While all of the positions are currently now filled if you ever have interest in serving on a committee or commission be sure to reach out to any Council Member.

Underwood and Cameron Park Updates
The City of Springdale has a couple exciting projects planned for 2024! Thanks to a very generous resident donor providing funding the Springdale Parks & Recreation Department will revitalize both Underwood Park & Cameron Park. We plan to repave the parking lots at each park, add new playground structures, family picnic shelters. In addition, new walkways will be added that make these park features more accessible for our residents.
