About Me

Education:

I have lived in Springdale most of my life first growing up in Heritage Hill, now in Oxford Hills.  I graduated from Princeton High School (where I met my wife of nearly 25 years – Karen) and then graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Analysis (Computer Science).

Professional Career:

After graduation I started my professional career with Accenture based in Chicago where I led several technical teams based in Chicago, France, Spain, and Manila.

When we started our family I left Chicago and to move back to Springdale (18 years ago) joining 5th3rd Bank in the Technology Services department working in a number of leadership roles working with both end consumer systems and business to business services.

After 5 years at the bank I left to join Kroger in the Information Services department again in a number of roles largely working with large data sets and working with business teams to build systems that help them better connect with the day to day shoppers in the grocery stores.

After 8 years with Kroger I left to join a smaller technology consulting firm working with companies around the world including  Nucor Steel, Walmart, FrieslandCampina, General Electric, and Proctor & Gamble.

Professionally I have been a featured speaker at several conferences including Gartner Catalyst US, Project Management Institute (PMI) Mega Event, Digital ID World – Germany, Iron & Steel Technology Conference, as well as published in several publication.

At the end of 2016 I retired from my professional career to spend more time with family and around my community.

Hobbies and Family Life:

After college I married my high school sweetheart Karen and we have 3 young boys Nathan, Daniel, and Thomas all in Princeton Community Schools. We are regular campers all over the region, everywhere from local park campgrounds to regional and national parks.

I am an avid triathlete (competing for the past 12 years including at the national level) and can often be found on a run at Glenwood Gardens and Winton Woods, or on a long bike ride on the Loveland Bike Trail.

Community Involvement:

I have been a Springdale Youth Soccer coach, Hamilton County foster parents (along with my wife), Our Lady of the Rosary finance committee chairperson,  guest lectured at Xavier University and University of Cincinnati, and I have worked with several government agencies as well as the Ohio Governor’s office on child welfare, adoption, and finance laws.  With my family background, I have a special interest in community events that promote healthy lifestyles, active kids,  as well as inclusive and diverse family friendly activities.
